Backend Developer - Kotlin/Ktor
Role
We're looking for a Backend Developer to build and maintain scalable APIs for our property
management platform. You'll work with a modern Kotlin-based microservices architecture handling
real-time operations.
Tech Stack
Language: Kotlin
Framework: Ktor (lightweight, coroutine-based HTTP server)
Database: Amazon DynamoDB (NoSQL with enhanced SDK)
Cloud: AWS (Lambda, Cognito, EventBridge, RDS, SNS, SES, OpenSearch)
Build: Gradle
Async: Kotlinx Coroutines
Testing: Junit, Mockito
Serialization: Kotlinx Serialization (JSON)
Responsibilities
Develop RESTful APIs in Kotlin/Ktor
Design and optimize DynamoDB schemas with proper indexing
Integrate AWS services (Cognito, EventBridge, SNS/SES)
Implement complex business logic (booking conflicts, recurring events, workflows)
Write unit and integration tests
Collaborate on code reviews and architecture decisions
Monitor and optimize API performance
