Responsibilities
- A baker is responsible for preparing, baking, and decorating a variety of baked goods, such as bread, cakes, pastries, and cookies.
- Preparing ingredients: Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes.
- Baking: Operate ovens and other equipment to bake goods at the appropriate temperatures.
- Decorating: Ice, glaze, and decorate cakes and pastries.
- Quality control: Ensure all products meet quality standards and customer specifications.
- Maintaining cleanliness: Keep the bakery area clean and organized, including equipment and work surfaces.
- Inventory management: Monitor stock levels of ingredients and supplies, and assist with ordering as needed.
- Customer service: Occasionally interact with customers, especially in smaller bakeries.
