Bus Aide
Position Purpose
Under the direct supervision of a driver, to assist with students on the bus to meet transportation goals and objectives, and to free drivers from non-driving duties.
Essential Job Functions
- Assists students with boarding and exiting the bus as necessary.
- Uses appropriate safety equipment.
- Assists driver with student behavior management.
- Assists in the implementation of individualized education plans, following all IEP guidelines and recommendations.
- Assists with record‑keeping procedures as needed.
- Accompanies students on field trips as needed for the purpose of assisting with supervision on the bus.
- Constructs, copies and distributes educational materials as needed.
- Participates in IEP process and serves as a resource for the student personnel evaluation team as needed.
