Job Description
- Cut, trim, debone, and prepare various types of meat, including beef, pork, poultry, and seafood, according to customer requests.
- Weigh, package, label, and price meat products for sale.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cutting area, equipment, and tools.
- Inspect meat for quality and freshness, ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
- Assist customers by providing recommendations, answering questions, and fulfilling specific orders.
- Monitor inventory levels and inform management of low-stock items.
- Ensure proper storage of meat products, using refrigeration and correct wrapping techniques.
- Sharpen and maintain knives and other cutting equipment.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, including the proper handling and disposal of waste.
- Experience as a butcher or in meat preparation is an advantage but not always required.
