Catering Assistant
General cleaning of all areas according to rota and daily schedules, ensuring high standards of personal hygiene and food safety. Assist in other areas as required, maintain HACCP records, replenish and restock as needed.
Main duties of the job
- Clean all work preparation areas, food trolleys, corridors, fridges, freezers, equipment, and large‑scale items such as saucepans, containers and knives to remove contamination and allergens.
- Follow shift‑specific duties such as pot washing, serving meals and waste removal, separating products into the correct waste streams as required by the trust sustainability policy.
- Adhere to personal safety requirements: short clean nails, clean uniform, tidy hair under a hat, and no jewelry.
- Assist chefs in preparing and producing food items; serve and distribute meals; aid customers and help team members as needed.
