Project Overview
The Pickering Nuclear Generating Station refurbishment program involves designing and building a new deep‑water intake in Lake Ontario to improve the plant’s cooling system. Key elements include: 5‑km‑long tunnel built by a pressurized TBM (10.15 m diameter slurry TBM) Two vertical shafts (onshore and offshore) An offshore modular intake structure resting on the lake bed Responsibilities
Manage the in‑tunnel, LU/LO and surface monitoring teams Ensure accurate acquisition of data Collect all monitoring data in time for daily review Program data for the tunnel guidance software Liaise with JV SCL Engineering team and the client regarding daily monitoring reports and queries Develop junior members of staff within the team Attend daily SRG (Shift Review Group) meetings as required and report back to the team Manage resources and equipment available to the team for monitoring activities Organise additional survey resources when required to cover additional...
