Four Innovation Fellows for MedTech Founders Program

Program Overview

Biodesign Finland at Aalto University seeks four part‑time innovation fellows to develop clinically validated medical‑technology solutions over a 6.5‑month period. Fellows work under a 20% part‑time employment agreement, commit weekly to training, clinical immersion, project work, and team collaboration. The program builds need‑driven solutions, provides mentorship, and supports commercialization pathways.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in structured training modules (8 ECTS credits).
• Conduct clinical immersion at HUS, observe workflows, and identify unmet clinical needs.
• Use the Biodesign innovation process to evaluate, prioritize, and develop a technical and commercial solution to one selected need.
• Lead project development, including technical feasibility, validation, and stakeholder engagement.
• Collaborate with clinicians, researchers, and industry experts for feedback and refinement.
