Job Description
Responsible for both the Green End and Dryers including coordination of maintenance to obtain desired production, volume, and grade in an efficient, profitable and safe manner.
Assists in preparation of budgets in areas of responsibility, ensures that operating costs stay within established budgets, and conducts periodical costs meetings.
Monitors quality of peeled blocks, veneer, log recovery, veneer clipping, stacking, and storage.
Monitors conditions of logs in the yard to include rotation and count.
Determines priority of maintenance requirements. Reviews preventative maintenance schedules and electrical/mechanical problems.
Monitors and reports safety, quality, production, and maintenance information to management in entire area of responsibility.
Trains supervisory and hourly employees in job safety, including accident investigation, and holds periodic safety meetings with supervisors.
