The Role
As Head Chef you’ll have full creative and operational control of the kitchen. You’ll design seasonal Italian menus using quality, locally sourced ingredients, lead and develop a small kitchen team, and maintain the consistently high standards our guests expect. This is a genuine opportunity for an experienced chef who wants autonomy, a supportive owner, and the chance to put their own stamp on a thriving independent restaurant.
Key Responsibilities
- Full menu development and costing, with creative freedom across seasonal Italian cuisine
- Leading, training, and motivating the kitchen team, including rotas and recruitment
- Managing food ordering, supplier relationships, stock control, and GP targets
- Maintaining the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen compliance (HACCP)
- Working closely with the owner and front‑of‑house team on specials, events, and growth plans
