Reporting directly to the school Principal, the Elementary School Teacher responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare lesson plans with clear objectives that follow Ontario curriculum standards and beyond.
- Prepare long-range plans, unit plans, and homework materials.
- Teach a full range of subject areas, including English (reading, writing, and oral communication), Mathematics, Science and Technology, Social Studies, and Islamic Education.
- Supervise students during classes and at other times during the school day, including breaks.
- Attend staff meetings.
- Discuss students’ progress and concerns with parents and administrators.
- Prepare for and attend parent-teacher interviews and other functions, including extracurricular activities.
