Laboratory Assistant (Float)
About the Role
As a Laboratory Assistant (Float), you are responsible for obtaining quality blood samples and other specimens from patients, and conducting other patient tests, in accordance with Dynacare’s mission and values. You will assist in building a positive team environment, maintaining quality metrics, and providing customer service to create the best possible patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Obtain quality blood samples and other specimens, using skillful venipuncture techniques.
- Accurately enter data, patient, and test information for Ministry of Health requisitions.
- Sort and steer specimens, perform ECGs, Holter Hookups, paternity, urine, drug and breath alcohol collections.
- Ensure specimens and supporting documentation are complete and ready for data entry and transportation to the laboratory, following SOPs and established protocols.
