Lead Software Engineer (Java)

My client are a prestigious government organisation, seeking a Lead Software Engineer to lead / direct a team of Java Developers.

Contract Length:12 Months

Location: Leeds / Manchester / Newcastle - 60 % in the office

IR35: in scope

Pay Rate to Candidate: Up to 750 per day DOE

Security Clearance: BPSS but candidates must be eligible for SC Clearance

The successful candidate will:

• Lead or direct a team of Java Developers.
• Build a useful, robust automated test suite to support a continuous deployment environment, implementing API's for internal and external use.
• Take part in 2nd-line support of applications and platforms and help build server-side web applications. Be able to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
• Maintain system administration and configuration management skills with experience in handling large data sets and scaling their handling and storage.
