Job Description
- Consulting with engineers and other professionals to understand the functionality and structure of mechanical devices or systems
- Preparing detailed working diagrams of machinery and mechanical devices, using measurements, specifications, and other data from engineers
- Using Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) software to create technical drawings and models
- Adding structural details to architectural plans from their knowledge of building techniques
- Specifying dimensions, materials, and procedures for new products
- Working with manufacturers and builders to ensure technical designs are feasible and can be implemented correctly
