Open Rank Faculty Position in Fine Arts, 2D Specialist

The American University of Paris invites applications for a full-time open rank faculty position in the Department of Art History and Fine Arts beginning 1 August 2026

The Position:

The candidate should be able to teach traditional and contemporary art techniques related to 2D media, including Drawing and Painting classes at all levels (beginning, intermediate and advanced), special topics classes, and capstone courses like the Junior and Senior Seminars. The ability to teach Printmaking and a class on Materials & Techniques is also beneficial. Ability/skills in applied arts would be a plus. The candidate will have good knowledge of and the ability to teach the history of their discipline and demonstrate a deep knowledge of materials and techniques.
