Operator I - Road & Bridge

JOB SUMMARY Reporting directly to a Foreman, responsible for performing County roadway maintenance. Level I of IV in Operators. EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED * Assists with the performance of roadway and right-of-way maintenance * Operates 6-yard dump trucks * Inspects and performs routine maintenance on equipment * Assists with the set up and maintenance of traffic control signs and barricades in compliance with the Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (TMUTCD) * Performs basic computer skills including, but not limited to, checking email and electronic timekeeping * Under close supervision, enters data into the roadway asset management system * Provides assistance during emergency events (i.e. flooding, ice storm, etc.) * Transports equipment, supplies and/or materials in light to medium trucks (6-yard dump trucks) * Complies with departmental and county safety standards * Communicates effectively with the public and other employees * Attends all meetings and trainings OR...
