Responsibilities
- A Pastry Baker is responsible for preparing, baking, and decorating a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods.
- Preparation and Baking: Measure and mix ingredients to prepare dough, batter, fillings, and other pastry components.
- Bake a wide range of pastries, including cakes, pies, cookies, croissants, and breads.
- Ensure baked goods are prepared to high-quality standards, consistent in taste, texture, and appearance.
- Decorating and Finishing: Decorate cakes, pastries, and desserts using techniques such as icing, glazing, and garnishing.
- Create aesthetically pleasing displays for bakery cases or special orders.
- Recipe Development: Experiment with new recipes, flavors, and presentations.
- Adjust recipes to meet dietary requirements or preferences, such as gluten-free or vegan options.
- Quality Control: Inspect the quality and freshness of ingredients and finished products.
