Job Overview:
A Pastry Chef or Pâtissier is a station chef in a professional kitchen, skilled in the making of pastries, desserts, pieces of bread, and other baked goods.
Main Tasks:
- Operate and manage the pastry section of a kitchen, working together with the other chefs.
- Prepare a variety of baked goods.
- Decorate and present pastries and baked goods in a tasteful and beautiful way.
- Monitor stocks and order ingredients, supplies, and equipment.
- Ensure the bakery section of the kitchen adheres to health and safety regulations.
- Develop new seasonal recipes and menus and keep up with the latest trends.
- Check the quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used for cooking.
