Job Summary

Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking an Electrical & Mechanical Commissioning & Trials Engineer to lead and support the safe, efficient commissioning, testing, and trials of electrical and mechanical systems onboard new construction and repair vessels. The role supervises and mentors unionized trades teams, coordinates with Production and Trials stakeholders, ensures all work meets schedule, quality, and safety requirements, and contributes to troubleshooting, productivity improvements, and delivery of compliant, high‑quality vessels for sea trials and acceptance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead a multi‑skilled crew of unionized trades team members to pre‑commission/test system I/O, set‑to‑work systems, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of equipment and systems onboard new construction and ship repair areas.
