Respiratory Care Practitioner

Position Summary

The incumbent is responsible for patient assessment, respiratory care diagnostic and therapeutic modalities, arterial puncture and sample analysis, and point-of-care testing.

Responsibilities

• Administers treatment modalities and aerosolized medications to patients.
• Provides ventilator management, including patient assessment and intervention.
• Uses respiratory care equipment, prepares medication and supplies.
• Responds to Code Blue situations and provides appropriate intervention including BLS and airway management.
• Provides quality care to patients who require respiratory care expertise.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to any age-related needs of the patients served.
• Assesses and interprets data about patient status to identify needs and provide appropriate care.
