Job Description:
The Registered Nurse in the PCU will provide specialized nursing care for patients facing acute and complex health conditions primarily within a tele/cardiac unit setting. The candidate must have strong PCU experience and be able to read and interpret strips.
Responsibilities:
- Titrate drips such as Amio, Cardizem, Heparin, Nitro, Nipride, and Lasix
- Interpret and monitor portable and in-room telemetry monitors
- Manage a patient load with nurse ratios typically 1:4-5, occasionally 5-6 on nights
- Provide care to adults and geriatric patients with cardiac and other acute conditions
- Work collaboratively with charge nurses, nurse aides, and telemetry techs
