Description
An Intermediate Software Developer / Programmer is needed to support the redevelopment of 2 desktop applications built using ArcMap 10.x and VBA for the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation, and Parks.
The MECP Parks Legacy Tool upgrade project refers to an application toolset, the GapTool, and the Values & Pressures Tool (VAPT). The GapTool and the VAPT were developed over a decade ago. The GapTool is an analytical tool designed to help prepare information and identify gaps in ecological representation. Where ecological representation is the concept that within ecologically defined regions, protected ecological systems (areas) should include representative examples of its characteristic biodiversity. So, Gap analyses are geospatial investigations to identify ecological features which are not sufficiently represented within protected areas, and to what degree protection is already in place....
