Senior Care Assistant
Location: Thatcham Court Care Home, Chapel Street, Thatcham RG18 4QL
Contract: Permanent – Full Time
Hours: Night Shifts Available
Salary: £13.45 – £15.02 per hour (depending on experience)
Responsibilities
- Day‑to‑day management of a unit
- Support nursing duties: observe, issue medication, review care plans, maintain accurate records
- Lead and supervise Care Assistants, including shift handovers
- Assist in training and supervision of new staff
- Develop relationships with residents, families and external teams (GPs, District Nurses)
- Provide personal care support to residents
- Promote resident engagement through activities and reminiscence sessions
Qualifications & Skills
- NVQ Level 3 in care (completed or in progress)
- Motivated, positive and possessing strong interpersonal skills
