Position Responsibilities
- Support Canada operations and legal matters, partnering with leadership to ensure business goals align with laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with U.S. teams to assess commercial transactions and ensure alignment on legal strategy to achieve desired business outcomes.
- Proactively identify legal and regulatory risks and elevate issues as required.
- Conduct legal research, prepare documents and advise business leaders on a range of legal issues.
- Partner with management and HR to evaluate, develop and implement employment practices, policies and compliance programs.
Minimum Requirements
- Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school.
- Active member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario or equivalent.
- 5+ years of legal experience with a large company or law firm.
- Excellent writing, communication and analytical skills.
