Senior Photonics Packaging Engineer

My client is looking for a Senior Photonics Packaging Engineer, based in Lausanne, Switzerland, developing advanced laser and frequency‑comb technologies for applications in optical communications, sensing, LiDAR, and spectroscopy.

The Role

• Develop photonic packaging for hybrid‑integrated optoelectronic devices
• Perform mechanical and thermal design of assemblies
• Assemble and actively align devices using industrial equipment
• Conduct root‑cause analysis on packaged devices
• Support production planning and scale‑up toward volume manufacturing

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Photonics, Optical Engineering, or related field
• Experience with semiconductor laser or silicon photonics packaging
• CAD experience; exposure to LabVIEW, Python, or Matlab
• Industrial experience preferred
• Fluent in English
