Service Assistant

Overview

Your role will be to support adults with learning disabilities to develop new skills, including woodwork and gardening, while helping them achieve their individual goals in a positive and social environment. You will play a key part in building their confidence and promoting independence.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver a range of activities within the hub and in the community, such as sessions at the allotment
• Collect pallets and deliver kindling
• Support woodwork and craft activities
• Provide personal care respecting an individual's dignity
• Communicate with families and other professionals involved in individuals' care
• Use IT systems to update records and complete training

Qualifications

• Understanding and experience of supporting adults with learning disabilities
• Ability to help with personal care while respecting an individual's dignity
