Overview

Special Needs Teaching Assistant (SENTA). Hours: 27.5 per week, part‑time. Contract: temporary. Salary: Hay 10. Almondsbury CE Primary is a vibrant 315‑place co‑educational school overlooking the Severn Estuary, on the outskirts of Bristol and near the M4/M5 interchange. The role is to offer 27.5 hours of support to children with EHCPs over the course of the week, with the possibility of working over lunchtime as a play leader.

Responsibilities

• Provide additional support to help children with academic work, both individually and in class.
• Support transition into school and management of lunch‑time activities.
• Assist children when they become dysregulated and manage their hyper‑vigilance.
• Support regulation of emotions and work to manage emotional challenges.
• Provide sensory support and facilitate fine‑motor control activities.
