Job Description
- Responsible for daily tasks involved in design of facilities and structures.
- Under general supervision, perform all aspects of design which include performing actual design tasks (conceptual, layout, and detail) and/or coordinating design and construction activities, studying, planning, programming, and various analyses.
- Perform calculations for design of structural members of concrete and steel, and organize data required for reports.
- Thorough checking to ensure the details are within the design codes and requirements and the overall drawings should meet the acceptable quality standards.
- Develop design criteria such as gravity loads, wind and seismic.
- Vast knowledge of statics, strength of materials, finite element modeling, and building/structure systems.
- Able to provide technical guidance to drafters and less experienced engineers.
